The sun sets in the midnight sky,
yet orange streaks still shine.
Darkness reaches forth it's hand
and slowly entwines with mine.
The dew lends it's immortal kiss
beneath it's darkening shrouds.
The magic of the moonlit night
is summoned from the clouds.
I hold my breathe in anticipation
of the wind's gentle embrace,
knowing this freedom will only last
til the kiss of dawn is upon my face.

This poem means many different things to many different people. I have always loved this one, it is my favorite of all the poems that I have written. To me it is finding the beauty in the darker aspects of life. The picture was one that I took one night as the sun was going down.
